2009: Biblical Meaning of the Number 9

2008 has come to an end - it’s now 2009! In 2007 I became interested a little in numerology. Especially in regards to the bible. According to my brief studies of numbers in the bible, I learned that the number 7 stood for completion, the number 8 stood for anew/new beginnings. Both years lived up to their meanings - 2007 was the year I turned my life back over to Christ, thanks mostly to danijohnson.com, therfore brining my spiritual “emptiness” to completion. I also got married. 2008 was definitely a year of new for me - newly wed, new baby, new house, 2 new businesses…So, in thinking about what I want to accomplish in 2009, I wondered, what does the number 9 have in store for me this year?

I have to be honest, the results of my studies are a little scary. Based on biblestudy.org, it looks as though the “wrath of 9″ has already started taking it’s foot in 2008. I will explain, but first, here’s some of what does the bible say about the number 9:

for judgment is committed unto Jesus as “the Son of man” (John 5:27; Acts 17:31). It marks the completeness, the end and issue of all things as to man—the judgment of man and all his works.

It is a factor of 666, which is 9 times 74.

The gematria of the word “Dan,” which means a judge, is 54 (9×6).

“th orgh mou” (tee orgee mou), my wrath, = 999 (Hebrews 3:11).

The solemn amhn (ameen), amen, or “verily,” of our Lord, amounts also to 99, summing up and ending His words.

The sum of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet is 4995 (5×999). It is stamped, therefore, with the numbers of grace and finality.

The sum of the Greek alphabet is 3999.”

All over you hear talks of the economy - not just in the US, but worldwide. Me, personally, I haven’t seen where the economy has affected my family in a huge way. Yes, the high price of gas (earlier in the year) and inflated food costs did put a small dent in our budget, but with the help of God and not worrying, we’ve made it and still are making it. In fact, my income has increased! I strongly believe the only reason God has prospered me in 2008, and will continue to do so in 2009, is because I finally began to learn His biblical laws to prosperity, as well as increased my walk and faith in Him. I did not allow doubt, fear, worry to set in - or my circumstances. I’ve kept my eyes and thoughts on the promises I know He has for me.

How will the meaning of the number 9 in the bible affect you? In looking at what biblestudy.org and a few other sites have to say about the number nine, in respects to the bible, I’ve come to a conclusion that 2009 may just be a rough year for many. What do I mean by that? Well, I believe this will be a year when “you reap what you sow” will begin to show itself - people will really begin to see the fruits of their seeds. It will show up everywhere - on the job, in family life, in your finances…That can either be a bad thing or a good thing depeding on where or what you’ve sowed your seed into - and where you are in your walk with God.

I’ve felt in my spirit for quite some time that the end of times is near - and apparently I’m not the only one. If it’s not our generation that will experience it (athough I believe it will be), I do believe it will be our next generation. All over the christian radio stations, TV stations/shows, churches, and God’s people are talking about how the end times are near. How we, the people, as a church need to rise up and get serious about the ministry of the gospel of Christ - saving souls and raging war against the prinicipalities of darkness.

Do I believe that it’s possible for the rapture to happen this year? Definitely believe it’s a strong possiblity, espcially in looking at the meaning of the number 9. The day and time is not numbered, but the signs and wonders that were promised to reveal themselves are definitely begining to bear their fruit. If the rapture does not happen in this year, I believe 2009 will be the beginning of the end.
