Overcoming Judgement, Condemnation, Self-Righteousness

1) Pleasing to the eye

Genesis 3:1

  • Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom
  • If you have bondage anywhere, it’s because the spirit of the Lord is not there. Give it to Him so He can reign as God over all of those things
  • (verse 1) the enemy = the serpeant, the father of lies

Purpose : to kill, steal, destroy

  • There are deamons in Christians (Peter, Christ from cross)

Bible says: “satan entered him”

  • He got Adam and Eve to question the character of God, question the Word of God
  • - Struggles planted to get you to question God
  • (23 min) Martin Luther King - denominations. Used to separate

  • First plan of attack: question God when you’re on the right track
  • as far as the east is from the west, he remembers sin no more
  • if you disobey as Adam and Eve did it leads to destruction

  • 2) Pride has led many to destruction
  • - Seduction always looks and sounds good: until you bite the fruit and then it bites you

You have a choice: God -or-the enemy

(ex: Star Wars)

(31 min) If you have: doubt, fear, unbelief…. You are on the wrong path

Look inside you and ask God where you have this in you - remove it so you are not led to the slaughter house (destruction)

(33 min) You think goodness gets you to Him? NO

Bible says: our righteousness is nothing but filthy rags

  • - It is NOT by your good works
  • - It is WHO you are following and WHO are you being led by?

Bible says: (Jesus/God said) “I don’t even know you”

Don’t react to fear - bow down to God and give Him your fear and repent

Death   the dark side     life   the light side
  SATAN           JESUS
            goodness, blessings, favor, freedom,
destruction, death, fear, self pity,     love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness,
mutilation, self hate, depression,     mercy, self control, unconditional love,
opression, despair, lust, anger, rage,     grace
violence, judgement

        FAITH

Says in Chronicles: rich in mercy, slow to anger

If you question your God, you will definitely question yourself

Genesis 3:9  - Who told you ___?

Who will you bow to? If you bow to a lie, you will never know truth/proclaim truth/plans God has for you. Know your opponents plan and beat him at his own game.

How the enemy seduces you:

  • 1. Pride: being above it all or desiring to be above it all
  • 2. Question
  • 3. Idleness
  • 4. Apathetic
  • 5. Distractions (crisis management - high drama)
  • 6. Stress, anxiety, worry
  • 7. Greed
  • 8. Shame, guilt
  • 9. Condemnation
  • 10. Sexual temptation

Tell him to SHUT UP and go to HELL where he belongs!!

Galatians 5:1

James 4:7 (resist devil and he will flee)

Repent and turn the other way

Eph 6:11

1 Cor 10:4-5

Quickest way to defeat enemy:

Isa 1:18-20

1 John 1:9

1 Pet 5:6

  1. Confess sins and as for forgiveness
  2. Humble yourself
  3. Willing and obedient (cast all cares upon Him)
