GoodSearch and GoodShop

I recently discovered Goodsearch and Goodshop and I will be doing my best to use them from now on since I do a lot of searching and purchasing online. I was searching for charities - the main one I usually donate to is World Vision, but I wanted to search for another one to add to my list - I came across GoodSearch and Goodshop and really liked what I saw and wanted to share it with others.

GoodSearch and GoodShop FAQ’s: Find Answers

GoodSearch is powered by Yahoo Search and so it will give you the same search results as Yahoo. You can add the search bar to your IE, Firefox, or Safari browser. You can also make it your homepage. Before you download the toolbar, quickly designate your charity on the homepage. If you don’t see one, you can always contact the organization and ask them to be added to the list. Then, when you begin searching, 50% of advertiser revenue is shared with your designated charity. If you are trying to raise money for your organization, according to the site, if there are 100 members searching twice (2x) a day, you could earn your organization $730 per year. Not bad for just searching the net!

At Goodshop, you do the same. Select your Charity (or if you’ve already selected one, it will show) and then shop with your favorite retailers. 0.05% - about 9% of your purchase is donated to your designated charity or organization. Honestly, I’m kind of disappointed at the amounts some of the companies are giving, but it’s better than nothing. Ebay gives 25% - 37.5% only to those who create a new account with them.
